Just as Jesus promised, the peace He gives is unlike the world’s. The world’s peace is temporal and dependent on circumstances, present only in the absence of trials. While the peace of God is not dependent on our situation, but anchored in His unchanging character and that He is in control. That doesn’t mean life’s trials suddenly become easy. It still hurts, it’s still tough. Yet even in the pain, we can choose to fix our eyes on Him, trusting that no storm is beyond His power to calm, and no heart is beyond His reach to comfort. In this world, we will face tribulation, but we can take heart for Christ has already overcome the world, and in Him, we find unshakeable peace!
